The EYETV file is similar to a Mac OS X file. It contains a video file in format, most likely an file, and the metadata files, such as the file, associated with your TV recording. To view the contents of the EYETV recording file, right-click the file and select Show Package Contents.The EYETV files, along with files and other setup information files, are located in the 'EyeTV Archive' folder.

My problems with EyeTV and El Capitan have to do with the IR Blaster on my EyeTV HD box. It was working (as well as it ever did) on my Mac Mini under El Capitan after I upgraded from Yosemite. However, after I reformatted the Mini and installed a clean copy of El Capitan, the IR Blaster doesn't work at all.
